The local administration of Dhading District, situated some 50 km west of capital Kathmandu, clamped indefinite curfew in the district headquarters Beshisahar from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday following clashes between political parties.
According to a local media house's website eKantipur, frequent clashes between the cadres of Nepali Congress (NC) and Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) cadres on Monday evening and Tuesday morning led to curfew in the area.
The curfew order was issued in order to avert any untoward incident on the eve of the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls as the activists of two major ruling parties started to assemble with home-made weapons including batons, spears, and other sharp weapons, the Dhading District Administration Office said.
