A group of armed men robbed around 14,000 U.S. dollars in broad daylight from a bank in Nepali capital Kathmandu Sunday morning.

A local eyewitness told Xinhua that around three persons on a motorcycle got away with a bag containing money from the office of Bank of Kathmandu.

The robbers overpowered the security guard of the bank by stabbing him when latter tried to resist them, said a local eyewitness. Two female staff of the bank too were overpowered by the assailants, who got away with the booty in the motorcycle.

Chief of the Crime Investigation Division in Kathmandu Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Upendra Kanta Aryal said that the search operation has been intensified to find any clue leading to the arrest of the robbers. "We are hopeful to identify the criminals soon," he said.
