Another explosion occurred near a famous hotel in the downtown area of Myanmar's former capital of Yangon Sunday night, eyewitnesses said.

The blast, which occurred near a saloon car parking on the 32ndStreet at the back of the Traders Hotel in Pabedan township, happened over an hour after the first bomb went off in an adjacent township near the City Hall.

The second explosion, which took place at about 9:15 p.m. (local time), partly destroyed the saloon car but with no casualties, the eyewitnesses said.

The cause of the blast is so far unknown.

Security has been tightened around the scene and investigation is underway on the two blasts.
