Preparation for the first session of Nepal's Constitution Assembly (CA) is to be ended by May 20, the Parliamentary Secretariat said here Monday.
According to Nepal's Interim Constitution, the first CA meeting shall be held, as summoned by the Prime Minister, within 21 days of the final results of the election of the CA members has been made public by the Election Commission.
After the new constitution is being drafted, the CA will also act as an interim legislature, until a new government is elected through general elections under the new constitution.
The term of the Constituent Assembly will be a period of two years.
