Malaysian former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad Thursday joined the blogging community with his own blog accessible at www.chedet.com.
In its preface, Mahathir said the site "is dedicated to publishing my writings as and when I am able to pen my thoughts and opinions."
Introducing himself as the Malaysian prime minister from 1981 to 2003 in his "about me" column, his first article touched on the appointments of judges and the proposed Judicial Appointments Commission, which he posted on Thursday.
In it, he said the appointment of judges is provided for in the Constitution and therefore if changes are to be made, the Constitution needs to be amended, the national news agency Bernama reported.
C.H.E. Det, was Dr Mahathir's pseudonym for his articles submitted to the Sunday Times between 1946-1950, which mainly touched on Malay economic and political predicaments then.
Mahathir, 82, has been known for his passion for writing and has written several books including the controversial Malay Dilemma published in 1970.
He now joins his daughter, Paduka Marina who has been blogging a few years with her www.Rantings.com blog. Source: Xinhua
