Afghanistan security apparatus have arrested two government employees on charge of having link with al-Qaida network and involvement in attack on military parade late last month.

"Two elements cooperated with terrorists are doctor Zalmai and Talib Shah who have now been arrested," intelligence chief Amrullah Salih told newsmen at a press conference.

Zalmai, an employee of the Interior Ministry, and Shah of the Defense Ministry had association with terrorists and cooperated in conspiracy to disrupt the victory ceremony last Sunday, Salih further said.

He also contended those involved in the attack had link with al-Qaida network and Miranshah, a tribal region inside Pakistan's tribal area where Taliban militants are active.

In the military parade on April 27 when the government of Afghanistan was celebrating the 16th victory anniversary of Mujahidin or farmer resistance groups against the then Moscow-backed regime, militants opened fire and disrupted it.

In the bloody attack for which Taliban outfit and Hekmatyar-ledradical Islamic group the Hizb-e-Islami claimed responsibility, three persons including a law maker were killed and President Hamid Karzai along with many officials left the ceremony to escape unhurt.

Flanked by defense and interior ministers, Salih added that the investigation is going on to nab more elements involved in the attack.

In the wake of the attack on the parade, the Afghan security forces located terrorist cells inside Kabul on April 30 and clashed erupted, during which four terrorists, according to Salih, were killed.
