Bangladesh will send humanitarian assistance including medicine and clothes for cyclone Nargis victims in Myanmar, an official release said here Tuesday.

The devastating cyclone ripped through Myanmar on Saturday, leaving at least 15,000 people killed, thousands still missing and causing huge damage to property.

In a quick response to the catastrophic devastation the Bangladesh caretaker government decided to send a good quantity of clothes and lifesaving medicines.

The relief materials include 10,000 pieces of lungi, 10,000 saris, 2,000 pants, 2,000 T-shirts and 40 categories of medicines, the release said.
