Nepali PM sends message of condolence to cyclone-hit Myanmar

Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has expressed deep sadness at the news of huge death toll numbering in thousands and widespread devastation caused by the tropical cyclone Nargis in Myanmar, the National News Agency RSS reported Wednesday.

In a message sent to Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar, Koirala extended his sincere condolences to the people and government of Myanmar.

He also expressed heartfelt sympathy to all the victims and members of the bereaved families.

The latest death toll from Cyclone Nargis is over 22,000, while more than 40,000 are missing.
