A coach broke the banister of a bridge in Vietnam's southern Ninh Thuan province and fell into a deep hole below, killing two passengers instantly and injuring 20 others, local newspaper Youth reported Friday.

The accident happened on the National Road No. 1A in Ninh Hai district on Thursday. Eleven passengers were seriously injured.

According to the provincial police's initial judgment, the coach's brake could have failed to work. The coach's driver has fled away, the newspaper said.
