A policeman was killed and two others injured in a blast in Northwest Pakistan on Friday, official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

Security personnel were conducting search operations for militants at Kabal area of Swat Valley in North West Frontier Province when the explosion took place, said the report.

Militants detonated a remote-controlled device and caused the explosion, according to APP. After the blast, policemen and militants exchanged fires but no casualties were reported.
