Flash flood killed four locals in Vietnam's Central Highlands province of Dac Nong, local media reported Monday.

The flood swept away the victims on Sunday, including two girls, one in seven and the other in two, in Tuy Duc district of Dac Nongprovince, according to the newspaper Saigon Liberation.

The local administration has immediately sent rescue forces to the spot, and in association with military, helped evacuate hundreds of families to safe places and search for the missing and bodies of dead people.

Natural disasters, mainly floods, hail, landslide and storms, claimed 435 lives and left 850 others missing or injured in Vietnam in 2007, causing total property losses of some 725 million U.S. dollars, according to the country's General Statistics Office.
