Senior leader of Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) Baburam Bhattarai said Tuesday Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala should resign as per the mandate of people so that the formation of the new government can begin, a leading website THT Online reported.
Bhattarai also said that CPN-M is in favor of forming an all party government but if the Nepali Congress (NC) party and the Communist Party Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) do not agree, CPN-M would form a single party government.
Speaking to journalists at Pokhara airport in western Nepal, he said, "The party having largest number of seats forms the government as per international practices and norms."
When asked about the stances of CPN-UML and the NC of not joining the government led by CPN-M until dissolution of the CPN-Maffiliated Young Communist League (YCL), he clarified that YCL was a sister wing of CPN-M.
Regarding the issue over the fate of monarchy, he said that the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly will announce the abolishment of monarchy. Source: Xinhua
