The death toll in Dang bus accident in western Nepal has reached 35, THT Online reported on Tuesday.

According to the website, the accident occurred Monday morning when a overloaded passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged 150 meters down in the Rapti river in Dang district, some 280 km west of Kathmandu.

The ill-fated bus was carrying more than 100 passengers, with 34 rescued and the rest missing till Tuesday morning. Among the rescued were seven Indian pilgrims.

The Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and locals are still continuing search and rescue operations at the site but officials say that chances of finding anyone alive are slim.
