Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperative measures to tackle climate change and other global environmental issues.

The MOU is aimed at building a strategic partnership for tackling global issues, including climate change and biodiversity loss, by holding regular consultation meetings, sharing best practices, said a press release issued after the signing of the document.

The two institutions, which have been collaborating by co-financing project of common interest, believed that the MOU will help further strengthen their collaborative efforts on global issues.
