Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala here on Sunday met with visiting U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Dr Evan A. Feigenbaum.
The two discussed issues including formation of a new Nepali government and the preparations for the landmark first meeting of Constituent Assembly which will declare Nepal a republic.
Feigenbaum, who arrived here on Saturday for a three-day visit, was scheduled to meet Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) General-Secretary Jhal Nath Khanal and Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) Chairman Upendra Yadav Sunday evening.
The nepalnews.com reported that the U.S. official will meet the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) leadership on Monday.
During his stay here, Feigenbaum will also review the recent U.S.-funded projects including the launch of a community radio station in Humla district, some 350 km west of capital Kathmandu, the U.S. Embassy said.
