The United States and South Korea committed more than 170 cases of aerial espionage against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in May, the official KCNA news agency quoted a military source as saying Saturday.

In a report, the KCNA gave a recent example of the espionage.

On May 29, a U-2 of the U.S. forces stationed in South Korea repeatedly made shuttle flights from the east to the west for a long time to make photographing and electronic espionage on the DPRK, the report said.

Some 30 cases of espionage were carried out by this reconnaissance plane in May, it added.

The over 170 espionage cases in May showed the United States and South Korea still have the ambition of invading the DPRK, according to the KCNA.

The KCNA reports U.S. and South Korean spying flights at the end of every month.
