An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 rocked eastern Indonesia on Wednesday morning, but no reports of damage or casualties, meteorology and disaster management agencies said here.
The quake jolted at 00:31 Jakarta time (1731 GMT, Tuesday) with epicenter at 40 kilometers northwest of Ruteng town of East Nusa Tenggara province and at 30 kilometers under sea bed, an official of the agency Anas Fauzi told Xinhua.
Twenty-six minutes later, an after shock measuring 5.5 Richter scale was reported, said Fauzi.
An official of the disaster management agency who goes with single name Darianto said that the shakes of the quake were felt strong in Ruteng town, causing no damage or casualties.
"We have contacted the officers in Ruteng. There was no building damage or one get hurt," he told Xinhua.
