The South Korean government on Friday warned former president Roh Moo-hyun and his aides not to expose to the Internet heaps of classified electronic documents, the Yonhap news agency said.
The warning was delivered by the National Archives of Korea (NAK) to the aides of Roh, who has retired, as the electronic documents held by Roh are believed to contain hordes of national secrets on defense and foreign affairs, Yonhap quoted government officials as saying.
On Thursday, a Roh secretary admitted that the former president had personally instructed that the presidential office Cheong Wa Dae's classified electronic documents be stored on the presidential online networking system for his reference in the future, Yonhap said.
The retired Roh was moving to build his own on-line networking system from his residence in Bongha Village, about 450 km southeast of Seoul, which will contain the classified data taken from Cheong Wa Dae, the news agency said, citing political sources.
