Sixteen persons were killed and six others injured in a bus accident in Indian northern state Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, the Press Trust of India reported.

The bus was on the way to a village when fell into a 150-metre deep gorge. The driver lost control over the vehicle while taking a turn, police said.

The dead included 11 men and five women. The conductor was among the dead while the driver was injured.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital.
