The Vietnamese government has recently approved a scheme on international sea cooperation by 2020, under which Vietnam will foster international cooperation on such fields as oil, marine transport, sea tourism and island economy as well as seafood, local newspaper People's Army reported Tuesday.

Vietnam will also strengthen the cooperation on salt production, development of economic areas, industrial parks and export processing zones, protection of marine environment, sea security and safety, resource exploration and marine technology development, infrastructure construction, state management and manpower training.

Under the scheme, Vietnam will effectively tap marine resources, ensure security and deal with sea disputes.
