Klaus Schwab, chairman of the World Economic Forum, agreed to act as a global advisor to President Lee Myung-bak during their meeting in Seoul on Tuesday, Yonhap quoted the presidential office as saying.

"Lee met with Schwab at Cheong Wa Dae to discuss pending global issues, including climate change. The president also praised the WEF's contribution to addressing world economic issues," said the presidential office.

"During the meeting, Lee asked Schwab to act as his international advisor on pending global economic issues, and the WEF leader accepted the offer," said the office.

Schwab is in Seoul after attending a World Economic Forum on East Asia in Malaysia earlier this week, Yonhap reported.
