The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will continue to take a series of measures to control drug trafficking, a senior DPRK official said Thursday.
Han Su Chol, a department director of the Ministry of Public Health, marked the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking by publishing an article in the official daily Minju Joson.
He said the DPRK had set up a well-regulated working system for narcotics control and will enhance cooperation in this regard with other countries and international organizations.
In 1987, the U.N. General Assembly decided to observe June 26 as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of a drug abuse-free international society. Source:Xinhua
