Five people, including three women, were killed and 35 others injured in a powerful bomb blast at a market in northeast Indian state of Assam Sunday afternoon, NDTV reported.

The bomb went off around 1.10 p.m. (0740 GMT) in a crowded market named Kumarikata in Tamulpur of Assam, killing five people on the spot. Five of the 35 injured are in critical condition.

So far, no organization has claimed responsibility for the blast.
