U.S., Pakistani officials hold talks on security |

The United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Richard Boucher Monday held talks with Pakistani leaders and discussed Islamabad's cooperation in the ongoing U.S.-led war on terror.
Boucher started his meetings with a call on Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, who will visit the United States later this year, the News Network International (NNI) news agency reported.
The NNI quoted U.S. diplomats as saying that Boucher's visit was part of efforts to continue dialogue between the two strategic partners and to continue the high-level dialogue on the war on terror.
Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will tour the U.S. after the visit of U.S. delegation to Pakistan, according to the NNI.
Boucher would consult Pakistani leadership on a number of issues, with special focus on the new government's policy to hold dialogue with the militants.
Security along the Pakistan-Afghan border and the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister Gilani to the United States would also come under discussions.
Pakistani officials will brief him about the dialogue process with the militants and measures to tight security along borders with Afghanistan to check illegal cross-border-movement.
