At least 30 people, including a number soldiers, were held hostage by Toori tribe in northwestern Pakistan tribal region on Monday, local media reported.

The 30 people, including some paramilitary Frontier Corps soldiers, were kidnapped by Toori tribe in Pakistan's Kurram tribal agency, private Dawn News TV channel said.

The cause for the kidnapping is yet unknown.

The kidnapping came as the Pakistani government has launched a military operation against militants in the tribal regions.
