Austria was again shocked on Wednesday by a family tragedy. A 66-year-old man was suspected of having shot his four relatives to death and was at large.

According to local media, the suspected killer Josef Branis shot his sister, his brother and their spouses in the small town Strasshof, where is about 30 kilometers northeast to the center of Vienna. The police found all four corpses shortly after the midnight of July 1.

The reason of this family tragedy might be attributed to disputes over a Vienna-located apartment owned by Branis's sister.

Branis was living in this apartment and had a long fight with his sister over the rising rent. This Monday, he had been evicted from the apartment. The police later found a letter wrote by him, expressed his resentment against the four dead people.

As reported, Branis was suspected running away by train. The police have released Branis's photos and offered hotlines for clues.

Family tragedies have taken places in Austria for at least eight times since 2004. The reasons of those cases are mainly incompatibility of husband and wife, psychological problems or economic problems.
