Thailand's Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Anupong Paochinda Monday insisted that the military will not stage a coup.

Anupong was commenting on rumors spread by the anti-government civil group People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) that military officers, who are Class 10 graduates of the military pre-cadet school, would stage a coup against the Samak government.

Anupong said a coup would not bode well to the country, which is already besieging by a lot of problems.

Also on Monday, Thailand's Supreme Commander Gen. Boonsang Niempradit denied the rumors about a possible coup d'etat in the country, saying there is no signal or indication of any military movement.
