India's Left parties announced to withdraw support to the ruling United Progressive Alliance government Tuesday after failing to resolve their differences over the India-U.S. civilian nuclear deal.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat made the announcement at a press conference at the party headquarters here.

Indian Prime Minister's speech in Tokyo Monday that his government would approach the IAEA for a safeguards agreement for the nuclear deal immediately made the Left parties very angry, according to the NDTV.

The Left will make a formal announcement when it meets the President on July 10 to withdraw support when the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from G8.
