Eleven people including nine security men were injured during one U.S. air strike in northwestern Pakistan's tribal region, local TV reported on Friday.

U.S. jets carried out an air strike in Angoor Ada area near Wana, a main town of the South Waziristan tribal agency, private Geo TV channel said.

The strike left nine security men and two civilians injured, and destroyed two vehicles, said the TV channel.

There is no official confirmation or response from the U.S. side about the incident.

The U.S. military, blaming Pakistan's truce with tribal militants for increasing violence in Afghanistan, has threatened to launch cross-border attacks on the tribal areas.

Pakistan-U.S. relations have been strained by a U.S. air strike on June 10 which Pakistan said killed 11 of its soldiers.

But the Pakistani government has repeatedly said that foreign forces would not be allowed to operate on Pakistani soil.
