Pakistani Taliban Friday threatened to kill the kidnapped security personnel and to blow up telecommunication system if their demands were not met by Saturday.

Local TV channels reported that around 140 Taliban militants Wednesday surrounded a police station and took some policemen hostage in Hangu district in North West Frontier Province.

The militants demanded that police should release seven of their comrades who were arrested earlier.

The DAWN NEWS TV channel quoted Taliban spokesman Maulvi Umar as saying that Taliban would start killing the 29 security personnel under their custody if the arrested Taliban were not freed.

Police arrested seven Taliban in a remote town in northwest of Tuesday at Duaba town and seized arms and explosives with them.

Prime Minister's Advisor on Interior Rahman Malik rejected the Taliban threat and said the government could not be blackmailed by Taliban threats.
