An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale, rocked New Zealand's lower southwest of South Island on Saturday, the GN Science said.
The earthquake, happened at 12:08 local time (00:08 GMT) Saturday, 80 km southwest of Te Anau at a depth of 100 km.
GNS Science said the quake would have been felt in Fiordland, Southland and Central Otago, but at only moderate intensity because of the 100 km depth. Source: Xinhua
