Afghan forces in a series of operations have killed six Taliban insurgents elsewhere in the country's eastern Paktia and central Ghazni provinces, defense ministry said in a statement released here on Thursday.

In operation launched in Zarmat district of Paktia province, four insurgents were killed and three others wounded, the statement said.

Two more insurgents were killed in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province, it said.

However, the statement did not mention the exact dates of the incidents.

A number of arms and ammunitions have also been seized by the troops, the statement said.

Taliban militants have not made any comments.
