Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf Thursday said he would support the government in its efforts to overcome the twin problems of terrorism and the economic downturn.
The President said this during a meeting with Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan and the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Q at his Camp Office, local TV channel Geo reported.
Musharraf said he had an important role to play in the present setup and he would continue to do his best in this regard.
This is not a time for confrontation because the country is presently facing a number of challenges including inflation, energy crisis and terrorism, said Musharraf.
He also called for the government to take immediate steps to control price hike. The National Reconciliation is necessary for the country to successfully meet the challenges it faces, he added.
