Newly elected Nepali President Ram Baran Yadav has started consultations with political parties regarding the formation of new government.
On Friday, Yadav held talks with the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) Chairman Prachanda. During the meeting, Yadav asked Prachanda about the time required to form a new government, reported nepalnews.com website.
According to the report, Yadav is likely to ask the CPN-M leadership to form the new government, as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly.
The CPN-Maoists, who had earlier announced to stay in opposition, have forwarded three conditions to lead the government.
The preconditions include the need to end the alliance of Nepali Congress (NC), the Communist Party Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) and Madheis People's Rights Forum, to prepare a common minimum program and give the vote of confidence to the government for at least two years.
Yadav is also scheduled to hold discussions with NC and CPN-UML leaders on latest political developments and formation of new government.
