An explosion at a chemical center in South Korea's southeastern port city of Ulsan killed one people, injured two others on Tuesday, local media reported.
A 35-year-old senior researcher, identified by his family name of Han, was killed at the Ulsan Precision Chemical Center when a powerful explosion hit an analytical laboratory on the second floor at 5:05 p.m. local time (0805GMT), South Korea's Yonhap NewsAgency reported.
Two injured people were carried to a nearby hospital for treatment, it said.
Local firefighters said the fire was put off after 30 minutes. The property damage is estimated to reach 780 million won, or 772,779 U.S. dollars, Yonhap said.
There have been no reports about the cause of the accident so far.
