The central committee of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) has discussed the proposed concept paper to be presented to the other parties for the formation of a national consensus government, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported on Friday.

"The meeting discussed on the conceptual paper of the proposal which we want to present to the other political parties for forming a consensus government," CPN-M chairman Prachanda said after the party's central committee met in the Nepali capital Kathmandu on Thursday.

The proposal was prepared by the CPN-M secretariat meeting on Wednesday after the 25 parties represented in the Constituent Assembly (CA) asked the CPN-M to present a proposal for forming the government. Except the Nepali Congress (NC), the second largest CA party, all the other parties voiced for the leadership of the CPN-M in the next government as the single largest party ofthe country.

CPN-M spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said, "Since the discussion is going on, it is simple that there are views for and against forming the government. Yet, there are many and positive suggestions for leading the government."

He said CPN-M chairman Prachanda was collecting suggestions given by the central committee members while discussing the proposal paper.

Ten out of 35 central members of the party put their views in the meeting on Thursday.

Hari Bhakta Kandel, a central committee member, said that most of the speakers viewed for forming the government. The meeting will continue on Friday.
