An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale occurred in Southern Sumatra, Indonesia at 14:44Friday (0644 GMT Friday), according to a bulletin released by the Hong Kong Observatory.
The epicenter was initially determined to be 3.9 degrees south latitude and 101.1 degrees east longitude, about 340 kilometers south-southeast of Padang, Indonesia.
There were no reports of casualties or damage so far.
