The parliament of Pakistan was summoned on Saturday to meet on Aug. 11 to discuss a resolution to seek the impeachment of President Pervez Musharraf.
The News Network International news agency quoted officials as saying that the National Assembly, Lower House of the Parliament, would meet at 5 p.m.(1100 GMT).
The ruling coalition will table a resolution with a charge-sheet against Musharraf.
At a joint news conference held with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan People's Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari announced Thursday that the coalition would initiate impeachment proceedings against Musharraf.
"In view of President Musharraf's wrong policies and failure to get vote of confidence from the newly elected assemblies as per commitment given by him to the Supreme Court, the coalition leadership has decided to move impeachment proceedings against him," a declaration issued by the two leaders said.

Four provincial assemblies, which constitute part of the Electoral College for election of the President, will adopt resolutions demanding Musharraf to take a vote of confidence immediately as committed before the Supreme Court.
