A suicide car bombing targeting international troops in Afghan capital Kabul Monday afternoon killed at least three people and injured 12 others, all civilians, a police official said.
Mohammad Ayub Salangi, police chief of Kabul told newsmen at the site that it occurred at around 04:30 p.m. local time (1200 GMT) when a suicide attacker drove a car laden with explosive devices and exploded his car close to convoy of international troops.
"Three civilians were killed and 12 others were wounded," Salangi said, adding "the casualties on international troops were not clear so far."
It was the second explosion in Afghan capital in a single day.
One Afghan police was killed and two others were injured as a roadside bomb struck their van in the outskirts of Kabul on Monday, according to local police.
Taliban insurgents who staged a violent comeback three years ago have intensified their activities in the provinces bordering Kabul over the past several months to mount pressure on the government.
Conflicts and spiraling insurgency have claimed more than 2,500people's lives including militants, troops and civilians so far this year in Afghanistan.
