UN official calls on Nepali PM |

Under-Secretary-General and Chefde Cabinet of the United Nations Vijay Nambiar called on Nepali newly elected Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" in Nepali capital Kathmandu, local newspaper The Rising Nepal reported on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Nambiar conveyed the Prime Minister the best wishes from the UN Secretary General and informed the latter about his visit to Nepal in connection with the inauguration of the Regional Center for Peace and Disarmament (RCPD) for Asia and the Pacific in Kathmandu, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal said on Tuesday.
Nambiar also briefed Prime Minister Prachanda about the UN activities and expressed his satisfaction at the role of UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) in the mandated areas in Nepal's peace process.
Prime Minister Prachanda expressed happiness over the establishment of RCPD in Kathmandu and also stated Nepal's full support to the effective operation of RCPD.
The Prime Minister also appreciated the role of the United Nations in the mandated areas of the peace process. He further stated that Nepal has set an example to the international community in this regard.
