Two political parties from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korea on Friday issued a joint statement denouncing Japan's attempt to grab Tok Islet, the official KCNA news agency reported.
"All Koreans in the north and south are following Japan's moves with a high degree of vigilance," the Korean Social Democratic Party of the DPRK and the Democratic Labor Party of South Korea said.
"If Japan tries to seize even an inch of the territory of Korea again, all Koreans in the north and south and abroad will throw Japan into the bottomless abyss of ruin by their concerted efforts," they added.
Tok islet is called Takeshima in Japanese. Both nations have claimed the islet part of their territory.
The two parties also urged Japan to make an apology and reparation for its crimes committed in World War Two and stop "repression of Koreans in Japan."
The Korean Social Democratic Party, formed in 1945, is one of the allied parties with the ruling Worker's Party of Korea in the DPRK.
The Democratic Labor Party is a Left-wing political party established in January 2000 in South Korea.
