Bhutto's widower authorized to nominate presidential candidate |

The central executive committee of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Friday authorized its Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to nominate a candidate for the forthcoming presidential election.
The senior leaders of the PPP met here at the Prime Minister's house and discussed the nomination for the post of Presidency and the judges' issue, private TV channel Ary One World reported.
The central executive committee nominated Zardari as PPP's presidential candidate and also authorized him to nominate anyone he likes as a candidate, according to Ary One World.
Pervez Musharraf on Monday resigned as Pakistani President for "national interest." Chairman of the Senate Mohammadmian Soomro took charge as the acting president.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday announced that the presidential election will be held on Sept. 6.
President of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that opposition would fully participate in the presidential election and would field its candidate.
