Two light aircraft clipped in mid-air on Wednesday afternoon, causing one plane crash and killing the pilot, while the second landed safely in Melbourne's south-east of Australia.
The incident happened before 12:40 p.m. local time, a Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) spokesman said.
A Cessna 150 crashed into the garage of a residential home, killing the pilot on the spot, while the other plane, a Piper Warrior, managed to land safely nearby.
There were two people onboard the Piper and one person in the Cessna, Australian Associated Press reported.
About 27 firefighters and nine fire trucks were on scene, as well as police officers, the report said. Source:Xinhua
