Pakistan, Japan to tighten ties |

Pakistan and Japan have reiterated their desire to further enhance and broaden bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, economy and particularly defense, official Associated Press of Pakistan reported Wednesday.
Federal Minister for Defense, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtiar and the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Seiji Kojima held a meeting here and the two sides underscored the need for exploring new avenues of cooperation for the mutual benefits, said the report.
Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtiar highlighted said that Pakistan was committed to combating terrorist elements till their utter elimination.
The two sides agreed that it was imperative to increase defense cooperation by exchanging defense delegations. Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtiar sought assistance of Japanese government to provide funding for clean drinking water projects in Pakistan.
