Solomon Islands Prime Minister Derek Sikua said he wants to hold a dialogue with Fiji on the country's political situation, according to local media report reaching here on Monday.

Sikua said that however, the final position of the Forum will be determined by what happens in the weeks ahead, the Solomon Times online reported.

Sikua said the Pacific Islands Forum would meet by the end of the year to review the Fiji situation. Whatever position the Forum decides to take, will be determined by the Forum's Ministerial group in Fiji.

On possible moves to suspend Fiji from the Forum grouping, Sikua reserved his comments until the Forum Ministerial Contact Group visits Fiji.
