Thailand's House Speaker Chai Chidchob on Wednesday suggested to hold a House debate to map out a solution to political turbulence.
Chai said he was consulting the coalition and the opposition over the debate.
The House had organized an emergent co-debate between the upper and lower Houses to discuss way out of the political turmoil on Sunday, but it ended in failure.
Meanwhile, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has admitted there was the suggestion.
Abhisit said the House should interrupt its session on the budget now and map out a political solution.
On Tuesday, the Army Chief Gen. Anupong Paochinda, who is in charge of enforcing emergency measures, also suggested to solve the crisis through parliament. He said the state of emergency could only ensure no more bloodshed between opposing crowds, but politicians are duty-bound to end the unrest.
However, the six ruling parties have not responded to the propose so far.
The anti-government People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) has seized the Government House since Aug. 26, demanding the government led by premier Samak Sundaravej to step down. On Tuesday, the PAD clashed with a pro-government civil group, leaving one dead and more than 40 injured.
