At least 10 people were killed and about 40 others were injured in a blast in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday, local TV channel reported.
The blast took place when a car hit a police station on Kohat road of Peshawar, capital of North West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan, EXPRESS TV said.
Two buildings near the police station also collapsed due to the blast and some 50 people were buried under the rubble, reports said.
TV footage showed the people were rushing back and forth to rescue the people injured.
Local reports said some injured have been shifted to a local hospital, and the death toll could rise later as the rescue work is underway
The blast occurred when the presidential election is being held in the country.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast but al Qaeda-linked militants have set off numerous bombs in Pakistan over the past year, Many of them in the northwest and aimed at security forces. Source: Xinhua
