The Pakistan People's Party (PPP)Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday won majority in the presidential election in Pakistan's Sindh province, according to an unofficial result.
Zardari, widower of slain former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, secured 162 votes from the 168-member provincial assembly while the other two candidates got no votes at all.
One vote is invalid and the other five members did not vote, local TV channel said.
Zardari has got 59 votes in the 65-member assembly of Balochistan and 107 votes out of 124 in North West Frontier Province.
According to the calculation method of the election, the presidential front-runner has got 178 from the overall 702 votes as the counting still continues in Punjab province and national parliament. Source: Xinhua
