An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale occurred near Vanuatu Islands at 11:14 Monday (0314 GMT Monday), according to a bulletin released by the Hong Kong Observatory.
The epicenter was initially determined to be 19.9 degrees south latitude and 169.0 degrees east longitude, about 250 kilometers south-southeast of Port Vila.
There were no reports of casualties or damage so far.
