Indonesian President hopes good relationship after Japanese PM's resignation

Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono hoped steady relationship maintains between Indonesia and Japan after Japanese prime minister Yasuo Fukuda's resignation, leading website Detik.com reported on Monday.

"For the President, Fukuda had played a role in improving good relationship between Japan and Indonesia," the website quoted the Indonesian president's spokesman Dino Patti Djalal as saying.

"Fukuda is a statesman with high visions and integrity. We hope the bilateral relationship is maintained," he added.
